Make a Difference - Volunteer.
Be Someone's Hero.
The President's Challenge (总统挑战慈善活动), under the leadership of President Tony Tan, took place in 2012 with an expanded focus that includes promoting volunteerism.
Fundraising continues to be at the heart of President's Challenge 2012. However, the campaign went beyond the giving of money to the giving of time, skills and talent for a good community cause. In the months of August and September, the "President's Challenge 2012 Volunteer Drive" (总统挑战义工行动) took place, during which individuals, schools and organisations were encouraged to participate in a host of volunteer programmes and activities.
The Volunteer Drive seeks to encourage everyone to be more involved in the community and promote volunteerism as a way of life. Singaporeans were called upon to volunteer for a good cause in activities held at non-profit organisations and within the community. The Volunteer Drive also aims to create better awareness of the work these non-profit organisations do and the volunteering opportunities they have to offer.
During the Volunteer Drive, over 300 volunteer activities were organised by various non-profit organisations, and required more than 5,000 volunteers.
NPO Open House
